Operating since 2009
Our beekeeping story started in 2009 back in Africa after one of our friends got seriously sick after getting stung by African killer bees. I realised that local bee-keeping practices were unsafe. I was curious to find out whether these were other ways. So I decided to go to collage and study more about bees and their life.
I spent two years in collage learning about bees and then afterwards, I trained local African beekeeping communities on transforming their beekeeping practices.

Start of Dejojo
After moving to New Zealand in 2014 I joined a large honey production company. I wanted to be more involved in helping local community providing polination services to local businesses, helping hobby-ist beekeepers to keep their bees healthy, and educate people about the importance of bees. I realised that with my own company I could achieve my dream so I started Dejojo in 2023 and have not looked back eversince.
